When I was growing up, one of my favorite foods was hummus. I loved eating it on its own, in salads, on pizza or in any of the different dishes that we would make at home. But, as an adult, I’ve also discovered the many variations of this delicious Middle Eastern food. Which one is the best?
With so many different types of humus available, it’s hard to pinpoint which one is the best Mediterranean food near me. There is, however, one specific dish that it makes a perfect base for other dishes greek restaurant. Let me introduce you to the one appetizing dish that I love the most: chickpea hummus.
Chickpeas are small, spindly and delicious. They come from the Mediterranean (and are usually grilled or baked) and they are commonly served with hummus. For this reason, this dip can be enjoyed by almost everyone. It goes great with pasta as well as other vegetables. For something a little different, try serving it with roasted garlic instead of garlic bread.
Hummus is often served with garlic. To do this, simply roast a clove of garlic and add it to the hummus. You can either do this wholeheartedly or just add a few cranks of garlic to the mix (just a couple of sprigs will give you a more mild flavor). If you’re not a huge fan of garlic, add some chopped onions or fresh dill to the mix as well. Both of these additions will give you a tangy twist on your hummus. Add some parsley for a fresh herb flavor to the mix.
Finally, there’s the garlic tabla. You’ll find this to be the most authentic hummus, as it comes straight from the Middle East. This dip is served all over the world, and it’s particularly popular in places like Israel and the West Bank. To make this hummus, simply combine garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, cumin, coriander, salt and black pepper in a large mixing bowl. Stir until the ingredients are thoroughly blended.
So there you have it. Three easy recipes that take just a few minutes to prepare and that is absolutely delicious. You should now have a good idea as to why hummus is such a popular dip or spread. It’s not just delicious on its own, but it’s also good any time of the day. The best thing about it is that you can enjoy it whenever it strikes your fancy!
